Description

Lay £2 on the third favourite if its price is within 6.0 and 10.0, and if it is at least 5 ticks away from the second favourite, and 15 or more ticks away from the favourite. Place the bet at 1 min before the off, and only if the market has 8 or more selections. If the bet lost, add £2 to the next stake. If it won and the bet size was more than £2, decrease next stake by 1/5 of the initial amount (£0.4).

Short Explanation

The "Amount" field of the trigger contains a formula:

IF(last_lost>0, 2+hist_1_laya, IF(hist_1_laya>2, hist_1_laya-0.4, 2))

The IF function returns 2+hist_1_laya if the last lost amount is greater than 0 (if you lost in the previous event). The variable hist_1_laya returns the last lay bet size. So if you lost it will add £2 to the previous lay bet and lay again. If however you did not lose in the previous event, it will make another check (you noticed that the IF function is nested). It will check whether the last lay bet was greater than £2. If it was, it will deduct £0.4 from it, otherwise it will lay the original £2.

If you want to change the betting amount from £2 to something else (for example £10) make the following changes:

IF(last_lost>0, 10+hist_1_laya, IF(hist_1_laya>2, hist_1_laya-2, 10))

This laying method is being sold elsewhere as a sure-fire money spinner but, believe me, it will put you in the Poor House very soon indeed.

It's marketed with the suggestion that you have a 200-point bank but I lost that much in a single day using this method. Luckily I was in test mode.

Yes, you'll have lovely days when all those 3rd-favs get hammered but there'll also be days when they win, and win and keep winning.

You'll be laying at an average price of about 8.0 and, with that utterly reckless staking plan, it doesn't take many losing bets to blow your bank to Hell.
